Answers to many of the frequently asked questions our visitors and customers may have can be found below. If you need help, please check here before you contact us.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes…we love to help new patients and would be pleased to see you. Please call our office to make an appointment.

Will you call my insurance to see if a procedure is covered?

We are happy to call them for general questions when you initially give us your insurance. However, it’s best if you call them yourself for specifics on your plan and what it covers.

Can I come back with my children while they have treatment?

Absolutely! Some children respond better when their parent is in the room, but many actually do better when their parent is out of the room, and we have “one on one” conversations.

Do I have to floss every day?

It is best to disrupt bacteria every 24 hours ideally, but some patients do fine flossing several times a week.

Can I be “put out” for my dental treatment?

While we don’t offer general anesthesia, we provide complimentary “laughing gas” and TVs to help you relax in each room.

Do you do root canals?

Yes, Dr. Barton Gleave does root canal treatments. In some situations, such as a re-treatment or apicoectomy, he will refer you to an endodontist.

Does Dr. Gleave remove wisdom teeth?

Yes, he does remove wisdom teeth right here in our office.

What are office waiting times? Do you generally run on time?

Because your time is valuable, we really do try to stay on time. In some instances, patients may need extra attention and time and we fall behind. We try our best. If you wait more than 10 minutes, please tell Kathy, our Vine Street Family Dental Care receptionist, and we will do whatever is necessary to make it better.

I’m cold when I come to a dentist office. What can you do?

No worries….we have blankets and pillows to make you comfortable.

Does Dr. Barton Gleave do braces?

No, although he will provide retainers and do some minor appliances for minimal tooth movement.
